These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of Ruickbies Ltd IT support and repair services. By Booking a service, contacting us, or using our website, you agree to these terms.
Services
We provide:
- IT Support (remote and on-site)
- Laptop & PC repairs
- Home Wi-Fi and network support
- Small usiness IT services
- PAT Testing
We aim to deliver services professionally, safely, and within agreed timeframes.
Pricing & Payment
Standard rates
- Remote Support: £30 per hour
- Home Visit: £60 per hour
- Business Support: £70 per hour
- Repairs/parts: price individually
- Travel cost is priced at £0.45 per mile for the first 10,000 miles of the year and then £0.25 per mile there after.
PAT Testing
Home Users
- £60 callout (includes 20 items)
- £1 per extra item
Small Businesses
- £70 callout
- £1 per item (1–50 items)
- £0.80 per item (51–150 items)
- £0.60 per item (150+ items)
Extras
- Certificate/report: FREE
- Failed item retest: £1 each

PAT Testing
Scope of Service
PAT testing includes visual inspection, electrical safety testing of appliances, and the provision of a digital test certificate. Testing covers Class I, Class II, IT equipment, kitchen appliances, and extension leads unless otherwise specified.
Limitations
PAT testing does not guarantee future performance or long-term safety of appliances. It confirms the condition only at the time of testing. We are not responsible for faults that develop after the test date.
Access Requirements
You agree to provide clear and safe access to all items requiring testing. Obstructed or inaccessible items may be excluded from the report.
Failed Items
Any appliance that fails testing will be labelled as unsafe and must not be used until repaired or replaced. We accept no liability for continued use of a failed item.
Liability
Our total liability for PAT testing services is limited to the cost of the service provided. We are not liable for losses resulting from equipment failures, downtime, or misuse of appliances before or after testing.
Retesting
If you repair or replace an appliance, retesting is available at the published retest price per item.
Frequency of Testing
You are responsible for ensuring appliances are retested at suitable intervals in line with HSE guidance or insurance requirements.
Repairs, Parts & Warranty
Diagnostics fees are non-refundable
Parts are supplied with manufacturer warranties.
Labour Warranty: 14 Days (software issues only)
Hardware repairs may have limitations based on device condition.
We are not responsible for future faults unrelated to the repair.
User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Back up your data before repairs
- Ensure safe access to your home or business (for on-site visits)
- Use genuine software licences
We are not liable for data loss, unless explicitly agreed in writing.
Remote Support
Remote support is provided via secure, encrypted tools.
You agree not to leave the session unattended and remain responsible for your device.
Cancellations & Missed Appointments
You may cancel or reschedule with at least 12 hours' notice
Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a callout charge.
Liability
Ruickbies Ltd is not responsible for:
- Data Loss
- Pre-existing hardware faults
- Software purchased from third parties
- Damage caused by user misuse
- Consequential losses (e.g., business downtime)
Our total liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.
Business Customers
For small businesses
Support is provided on a best-effort basis
No uptime guarantess unless contractually defined
Monthly plans require 30 days' notice to cancel
Use of the website
You must not:
Attempt to breach website security
Copy or resell website content
Use our website for harmful or illegal activities
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally
